In his acceptance speech, Biden made it clear that the fight for universal health care is still a fight and that the U.S. has the moral authority to act.
Biden, however, also made it a point to say that the current administration will not be changing the direction of the country.
“We have not decided on our path, but we will not abandon our path,” Biden said.
“Our path will not change because we have the power to change.”
The president also said he does not plan to make any decisions on how to handle the opioid crisis.
“The president is not ready to commit to any specific strategy for addressing the opioid epidemic,” he said.
In his speech, he made it abundantly clear that he does have a long way to go.
Biden said he will continue to press the U,S.
to “put forth the vision of a future that does not just look back at our past but also looks ahead.”
