Posted November 06, 2019 08:23:00When Pope Francis met with the King family in New York City in November, he was asked to speak on the need to respect and uphold human rights and the right to justice.
He gave his own speech in response to the US presidential election, saying that “we are a people of law, freedom, peace and justice”, as well as of “equality and dignity”.
Pope Francis also told the King’s family to “make a difference” for the world and said that they were “our greatest gift”.
He also said: “I want you to know, I am not your boss, I’m not your judge, I will not take away your right to choose.
I do not have the right, you are my servant.”
Pope Francis has made his first visit to the United States since his election in January.
